As always, Chloe Benoit, our volunteer graphic designer has done an amazing job! This is the badge that all our donors will be getting as a JPeg to put up on their websites and Facebook pages or use in their advertising. Isn’t it great?
If you want one of these puppies, get involved! We still need all kinds of volunteers to help with logistics, and we’re still looking for a few more designer doghouses and silent auction items. (If you’re a restaurant or bar, call me! We want to arrange Yappy Hours in the two week period leading up to the event; we’ll supply you with paper coasters that have our logo on them as well as posters.)
And a big shout out to Timbra Contracting, which contacted me over the weekend to say they’d love to participate and will be donating a designer doghouse! Tail wags also go to Adam McEachern of Martial Law Clothing, which is going to donate a couple of their hoods bud shirts.
Martial Law Clothing, by the way, is the official sponsor of Ottawa’s own Jody Mitic of the Amazing Race. Jody is the former elite sniper who wowed us all with his courage and determination throughout that TV competition — he lost both legs beneath the knees in Afghanistan but never let that stop him, despite the pain and discomfort — he’s a true hero. I can’t tell you how many times I had tears in my eyes watching him and his brother support each other in that race.
Martial Law Clothing will be releasing a Jody Mitic shirt soon — we may even be able to get one signed by Jody for the silent auction. Thanks so much to both of you and to all our terrific donors!
